FranConnect is thrilled to unveil enhanced E-Learning capabilities, empowering location managers to create, edit, and target content with unprecedented efficiency. This release streamlines content delivery and boosts compliance for location employees. The new features are available in playground systems now and will go live on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
This release introduces flexible, optional settings and permissions that can be tailored to your specific business needs:
- Expanded Manager Permissions: Area, General, and Store Managers can now create and deliver content faster, enhancing compliance efficiency.
- Customizable Administrator Roles: New custom permissions for World and National Managers allow for more precise allocation of content creation and compliance management responsibilities.
- Approval System: A linked approval process ensures consistency in World and National level content while preserving managers' ability to deliver location-specific training.
These enhancements are designed to optimize your operations, offering a perfect balance of control and flexibility in your E-Learning environment.
Expanded Manager Permissions
World and National level accounts can navigate to any individual manager and apply custom permissions to grant them tailored settings specific to their role. In the below example, this user is a General Manager and has been granted all new permissions to create and target eLearning content.
Note: All new manager permissions are disabled by default
New Manager Permissions are listed below:
Permission Name | Access Provided |
Training --> ACTIV | Grants the user access to view ACTIVs |
Training --> ACTIV --> Manage | Grants the user access to view and create ACTIVs |

In the example below, General Manager Brad Murray has all permissions enabled, granting him access to create and target content to all his locations and users.
Customizable Admin Roles
New custom permissions for World and National Managers allow for more precise allocation of content creation and compliance management responsibilities. In the example below, this World Manager account Ben Long is a content creator, so the permissions for Targeting and Performance Monitor have been restricted.
Note: All World and National Manager permissions are enabled by default

Approval System
A linked approval process ensures consistency with World and National level content while preserving managers' ability to deliver location-specific training. World Level accounts can enforce approval for users who have been granted user permissions to create and manage content before they can target employees. By navigating to System Configuration --> eLearning --> Approval Required for Targeting option now appears.
Note: This permission is disabled by default in all systems
When this setting is enabled, all managers with create permissions will be sent to World and National level accounts to approve. In the example below, our General Manager Brad Murray can create content but approval is required before he can target his employees.
Now, when a World or National Level user accesses the National level eLearning library page, they can see any 'Pending' modules and approve or reject the eLearning module. If rejection is required, there is a comments section that will appear as seen below.
If the eLearning module is approved, it can then be set to target employees provided the manager has targeting permissions.
Note: At an approved status, the only action a manager can perform, is changing the targeting and setting the active status. If at any stage the content changes after approval, the module is immediately set back to a 'Pending status' for re-approval.
In the example below, Brad can now target his employees as the content has been approved.
