As an Administrator or Manager, you have the ability to edit the details of Employees. This especially comes in handy when needing to move an employee, if they have been transferred to another location or their account group has changed.
The purpose of this article is to provide instructions on how to locate and edit Employee-level accounts in the platform. There are two (2) methods of doing this, as below:
Important: To be able to edit Employee-level accounts, you must be in an account group that is above them in the general hierarchy of the platform, as well as be assigned to the same country/area/location. For example General Manager accounts can modify Store Manager and Employee accounts, but not Area Manager accounts - since this account group is a level above in the hierarchy.
1. Accounts Tool
The first method, is to use the Accounts tool. Please see instructions below:
1. Go to System → Accounts
Note: If you have a World Manager or multi-country National Manager level account, you will need to select a country first.
2. Search for the account using the available filters
3. Click on the 'pencil' (edit) icon next to the account you wish to edit
Note: This will direct you to the 'Update Account' page.
4. Update any/all field(s) accordingly - throughout all applicable tabs
Note: If updating the employee's password, a strong password is required (and highly recommended). Please ensure it contains a combination of numbers, upper case letters, lower case letters and symbols.
An example of a bad password, is a password that is the same as the username OR is 'password' OR is made of a repetition of ONE character - e.g. 888888 OR is made of consecutive letters or numbers - e.g. 123456.
6. Click on the Update button
2. Search Tool
The second method, is to use the Search tool. This is generally the quickest way to locate (all) users in the platform. Please see instructions below:
1. Click on the 'search' icon (top right)
2. Type the name of the user you wish to find, then click on the Search button (or simply press ENTER)
3. Once the search results load, locate the user and click on the Edit button
