Now live, we have increased the maximum allowed file size of various upload fields throughout the platform.
Important: Whilst the below file size limits have been increased, we strongly urge you to continue to optimise your files for use with your platform. Even though larger file sizes are allowed, they're not always required and/or the best option. Also, it's important to remember that, using larger than required files will increase your overall storage and potentially increase bandwidth usages as well.
Manuals and Files
Single File Uploads
The maximum size restriction for single file uploads in the Manuals and Files tool, has been increased from 200 MB to 1 GB.
Bulk File Uploads
The maximum size restriction for bulk file uploads in the Manuals and Files tool, has been increased from 500 MB to 1 GB.
E-Learning
Content Library
The maximum size restriction has for file uploads in the Content Library within the E-Learning tool, has been increased from 500 MB to 1 GB.
Tip: When creating content packages (e.g. SCORM) for your platform using your preferred authoring tool, it's best practice to optimise any assets (e.g. images & videos) that are within the package itself. This will reduce the overall size of the .ZIP
file, which results in quicker and smoother load times for your end-users.
ACTIV
Library
The maximum size restriction has for video file uploads in the Library within the ACTIV tool, has been increased from 100 MB to 200 MB.
Important: This applies to video file uploads only. Image and audio files still have a maximum size restriction of 100 MB.
Large File Size Limit Increase
As part of the above changes, an overall file size limit increased was implemented. Any tool that previously had a maximum upload file size of 500 MB, has been increased to 1 GB.
This change affects the following tools/functions:
-
Manuals and Files
- Single file uploads
- Bulk file uploads
-
E-Learning
- Content Library
Attention: Again, just a reminder that, using larger than required files will increase your overall platform storage usage, which could potentially lead to added storage costs.
