Configuring Store Summary Display Columns for All Users

How an administrator sets default Store Summary columns for every user in Info Manager

Overview

Users can change the columns shown on the Store Summary page, and each user's choice is saved separately for every lifecycle tab. To set the columns for all users at once, an administrator configures Store Summary under Configure Summary Display Columns. This article explains what that setting changes for users, how to configure it, and what it does not control.

1. What the Admin Configuration Changes

When the administrator saves the Store Summary configuration, the change applies to every user on every lifecycle tab:

Admin settingEffect on users
Default Configured ColumnsAdded to every user's Store Summary on every lifecycle tab. Users cannot remove them. They display with an asterisk.
Column removed from the configurationRemoved from the Store Summary for all users, including users who had added it themselves.
User has never customized columnsThe user sees the administrator's configured columns.

2. Configure Store Summary Columns for All Users

The user must be signed in with a role that has access to Configure Summary Display Columns.

  1. Go to Admin > Configuration > Configure Summary Display Columns.
  2. Select Store Summary.
  3. Move the columns that users should be able to display into Configured Columns. Remove any column that no user should see.
  4. Select the columns that every user must always see as Default Configured Columns.
  5. Click Submit.

Important: Columns removed from this page are removed for all users, including columns users added to their own view. Some custom tabs or fields may not be available for selection. If a column you expect is missing, contact Support to confirm whether it can be added.

3. Verify the Change

  1. Open Store Summary as a user who had customized their columns.
  2. Open each lifecycle tab. The default columns appear on every tab, marked with an asterisk.
  3. Confirm that any column you removed from the configuration no longer appears.

4. What This Setting Does Not Control

ItemBehavior
Column layout and orderThe configuration does not force the same layout or column order on every user. Users who customize their columns can end up with a different layout or order.
Personal column changesUsers can still add and remove their own columns, other than the Default Configured Columns, on each lifecycle tab.
Restricting column changesThere is no current role privilege or option that prevents users from changing their own Store Summary columns.

Note: To limit which columns users can choose from, remove those columns from Configured Columns in step 3 of section 2. Users can only select from the columns the administrator makes available.
