Configure Google Calendar Settings

Enable Google Calendar sync in FranConnect so schedules stay in step with your Google account.

Before you begin

You need admin access to FranConnect's hidden links, a Google account, and the redirect URL shown on Admin › The Hub / Info Mgr / Training › Configuring Server. You will create a Google Client ID and Client Secret as part of this guide.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps to configure Google Calendar Settings

Open Google Calendar settings

Go to the hidden links area and open Configure Google Calendar Settings.

Enable Google sync

Switch on Google sync to make the calendar settings editable.

Schedule Scope for calendar items with 'Default' privacy, Google Email ID, Google Password, Google Sync Client Id and Google Sync Client Secret. The next steps show how to generate the last two.

Create a Google project

Sign in to the Google Developers Console, click Create Project, enter a project name and click Create.

Enable the Google Calendar API

Open Library in the sidebar, search for Google Calendar API, open it and click Enable.

Create an OAuth 2.0 client ID

Open Credentials, choose OAuth 2.0 client ID from Create credentials, then enter the client name, authorized JavaScript origins and the redirect URL from FranConnect's Configuring Server page and click Create.

Save the credentials in FranConnect

Paste the Client ID and Client Secret into their fields on the Google Calendar settings page and click Save.

Tip

A confirmation message appears once the settings save successfully. Keep the Client Secret private.
