What to check when Opener checklist tasks are not displaying for a location or user
Overview
When a location's Opener checklist looks incomplete, or a user cannot see it at all, the cause is almost always a configuration or filter setting rather than missing data. This guide covers the three most common causes and how to resolve each one.
| Symptom | Likely cause | Go to |
| Some tasks are missing for one location, but other locations show the full list | The task is not assigned to the location's Store Type | Section 1 |
| The checklist tab looks empty or partial, but tasks appear when you click a status count (for example, Pending) | The View or Contact filter is limiting the list | Section 2 |
| A franchisee cannot see the Opener checklist at all | The location is not visible to the franchisee, or the checklist is being looked for in the wrong place | Section 3 |
1. Some Tasks Are Missing for a Location
Each task on a checklist is tied to one or more Store Types. A task only displays for a location whose Store Type is selected on that task. If a location's Store Type (for example, Default) is not selected, the task is hidden for that location even though the checklist is assigned correctly.
Resolution
First, open the location in Info Manager and note its Store Type. Then update the tasks:
- Go to Admin > Opener > Task Checklist and open the checklist in question.
- Open a task that is not displaying and review its Store Type selections.
- If the location's Store Type is not selected, add it and save the task.
- Repeat for each missing task, then reopen the location's checklist to confirm the tasks now display.
Note: A primary checklist that starts at 9 weeks prior and counts down to week 1 is the expected layout. If a location also has a secondary checklist (such as a pre-funding checklist), unchecking it will not bring back tasks hidden by Store Type. Correcting the Store Type on the tasks is the fix.
2. The Checklist Appears Empty or Incomplete
A corporate user may see only part of the checklist, or none of it, because of the View and Contact filters on the checklist. The tasks still exist and may display normally for another user, such as an administrator.
- Open the location and go to the Opener Checklist tab for the Primary Checklist.
- In the upper-left corner, set the view to All.
- Open the Contact filter and select Select All.
- Confirm the full list of tasks now displays.
Tip: If tasks appear when you click a status count on the Overview tab (for example, Pending) but not under All, the filters above are the first thing to check.
3. A Franchisee Cannot See the Opener Checklist
The Opener checklist is accessed through the Opener module. Selecting the Opener option on the user's profile is not enough on its own: the location must also be made visible to the franchisee.
- Go to Info Mgr > Store Summary and search for the location.
- Click the Action button for the location.
- Select Make visible to franchisee.
- Have the franchisee open the Opener module and confirm the checklist displays for the location.
