A thriving franchise constantly seeks to consolidate leads from various sources into a single CRM for seamless management of its sales pipeline. These leads may originate from online channels or direct calls to the sales office. By centralizing all leads within one database, you can effectively track communication and guide each lead through the sales pipeline with greater efficiency. In this article, we will guide you through the process of importing leads into FranConnect.
Prerequisites
Importing Leads
Before trying to import any leads, open the document being used for the import and make sure the top row is labeled correctly. Only the following fields can be imported using this tool:
- Inquiry Date, First Name, Last Name, Email, Company Name, Address, Address 2, City, State / Province, Country, Zip / Postal Code, Work Phone, Work Phone Extension, Home Phone, Home Phone Extension, Fax, Comments, Mobile, Best Time To Contact, Lead Status, Lead Source Category, Lead Source Details, Assign To, Preferred Mode of Contact, Current Net Worth, Cash Available for Investment, Investment Timeframe, Source Of Investment, Background, Division, and Brand
While checking the data, please also ensure the file is saved in a CSV (Comma Separated Values) or Tab (Tab Separated Values) file format.
Once you have confirmed that the data being entered is correct, click Sales on the left-hand sidebar and select Import from the ensuing drop-down menu.
On the next page, click Choose File next to "Sales Data File" to select the file you wish to import from your local machine.
Once you have selected the correct file, click Continue.
Next, you will see a list of all the fields that can be imported. Next to each field will be a drop-down menu. These selections will map the selected field in the imported file to a field that FranConnect will recognize.
Once you have filled in all the required fields and have confirmed that the inputs are correct, click Continue at the bottom of the page. You will see the following output when the import is complete.
If the output appears to be correct, click Return To Import to complete the process. If it does not appear to be correct, you can click Revert Back Upload to revert the changes.
If you wish to delete the uploaded records that were imported with warnings, select the checkbox and then click Delete Records.
This will delete the corresponding records and mark them as deleted in the Import history.
If everything looks to be correct you can just leave this page and continue back to any other section of your system. All imported leads will be displayed in the Lead Management section of your system.
