Your franchisees, managers and frontline employees open the FranConnect app every day. From the October release, the brand investment you've made on the web platform carries through to mobile for the first time.
Building on the unified FranConnect + Training & Development experience launched in Phase 1, Phase 2 completes the picture — bringing your brand into the app with custom themes and Single Sign-On menu support. All configured as your new default mobile experience.
Phase 2 — What's New in October
Your existing brand theme — now on mobile
Brand consistency drives franchisee engagement. When the app looks and feels like your network — not a third-party tool — franchisees are more likely to open it daily, act on notifications, and engage with their teams. A branded experience signals that the platform belongs to them, not to a software vendor.
Admins can now apply their existing theme to the app with a single setting, giving franchisees a consistent brand experience whether they're on desktop or mobile — across the app icon, app name, push notifications, header bar, and navigation drawer.
To enable: Admin → Theme → Configure App → tick Apply Theme to Mobile App (requires Configure Theme privilege).
Haven't set up your theme yet?
If your network hasn't configured branding in FranConnect yet, now is a great time. Your theme settings control the colors and logo that appear across both the web platform and the option to set in the mobile app.
To get started: Admin → Theme → Configure Theme (requires Configure Theme privilege) and set your brand colors and save. For networks that have active brand or divisional themes, the app now automatically applies the correct theme for each user based on their brand (Division).
Configure App — custom app name, icon & push notifications
Admins can also set a custom app name and icon that appears on your franchisees' home screens. Push notifications will also display your brand icon and app name in the lock screen and notification center — reinforcing your brand at every touchpoint.
To configure: Admin → Theme → Configure App (requires Configure Theme privilege).
Single Sign-On (SSO) APP Support
This feature now gives franchisees direct access to third-party systems from the app's navigation menu. Admins can enable specific SSO tabs for mobile users — those tabs appear as first-class navigation items, either launching directly into a secure Single Sign-On handoff, or opening a tile grid where users can select from multiple associated links, some SSO-authenticated and some standard.
Access is controlled at both the tab level (enabled for app users) and the user level (configured per individual) — ensuring franchisees only see the tools relevant to them.
To enable an SSO tab for app users:
- Navigate to Admin → Single Sign-On → Add New Tab, or for existing tabs open the action menu (⚙) for the relevant SSO tab
- Select Enable for App Users
The tab will now appear in FC Sky for users who meet the existing user association rules for that tab.
UX improvements
- Consistent landing screen — the app now always opens on the Activity Stream after login
- Navigation menu order — the mobile nav drawer mirrors the module sequence configured in your web admin settings
Training & Development Customers
From the October 2026 release, Training & Development is automatically enabled inside the FranConnect app for all T&D customers — no request needed, nothing to set up. For full details on the unified experience see the Phase 1 article.
Note: Both the FranConnect app and the FranConnect World Manager app are supported during the transition period. Once your franchisees, managers and employees have successfully logged in to the FranConnect app, we recommend they delete the World Manager app to avoid receiving duplicate notifications. We will communicate the retirement date of the World Manager app in advance — but we encourage moving users across as soon as possible.
How to Get Started
From the October 2026 release, Training & Development is automatically enabled for all T&D customers inside the FranConnect app — no request needed, nothing to set up.
-
Download the FranConnect app and log in using your organization's company code provided by your administrator.
- Apply your brand theme — go to Admin → Theme → Configure App and tick Apply Theme to Mobile App to extend your existing web theme to the app. To set a custom app name or icon, complete the fields on the same screen (requires Configure Theme privilege).
- Set up Single Sign-On (optional) — go to Admin → Single Sign-On to enable SSO tabs for mobile users. Each tab must be enabled individually using the Enable for App Users action.
