Changing Role Names and Abbreviations

The names and abbreviations of (all) Roles are able to be changed within the platform, via the Languages tool. This allows you to update the default names and abbreviation, to better reflect that of your organisations'. Please refer to the below instructions on how to change your Role names and abbreviations.

Default Role Names and Abbreviations

The following table shows the list of (default) Role names and abbreviations, all of which are 'phrases' that can be changed via the Languages tool:

Searching for a Role Phrase

1. Go to System → Languages

2. Click on the "Search For Phrase" button

3. In the Phrase field, enter the Role 'phrase' (as per the above table)

4. In the Language field, select the language you wish to make this change in

5. Click on the Search button

Updating a Role Phrase

1. Review the search results that appear

  • Matching Phrases: This should appear exactly as the Role 'phrase' (as per the above table)
  • Found in Section: Ensure the phrase is in the 'User Groups' section (as per the above table)

2. Click on the 'edit' icon (or on the phrase)

3. Scroll through the page and locate the phrase (it will be highlighted)

  • Description [column]: Ensure the description is correct (as per the above table)

4. In the 'Translation' column text-box, replace the text with the phrase you wish to use

5. Click on the Update button

Once this is done, the updated phrase(s) will be reflected within the platform immediately.
