Steps to Import CoA to the FranConnect System

  • Navigate to Unit Admin > Configuration > Configure Chart of Accounts.
  • You can import the Chart of Accounts from your QuickBooks account by clicking the Import CoA from QuickBooks button.

  • On the Sign in screen, enter your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account credentials.

  • To authorize the connection and initiate the import process, click Authorize.

  • In the Mapping Details page, you can map your CoA with Standard QuickBooks CoA by dragging and dropping the values from left to right.

  • You can associate Your Chart of Accounts with Standard QuickBooks Chart of Accounts by dragging the Account Value from left to right. After moving the account value, you will notice that values are added in the Standard QuickBooks Chart of Accounts and are greyed out in the Your Chart of Accounts section on the left.

  • If you are mapping a child account value with the Standard QuickBooks CoA, then the parent value of that particular child value will become greyed out.

  • To undo mapping, you can delete the mapped account value from the Standard QuickBooks CoA. After mapping the values, click Save.

Note: If you are a multi-unit owner using one QuickBooks account to manage all of your businesses, you only have to login once to the FranConnect System to map your locations with QuickBooks. Multi-Unit franchisees often manage this multiple business structure using QuickBooks Classes to separate income and expense entries by location, and FranConnect Finance supports this approach. To initiate the process of mapping, drag each of Your Locations to the appropriate QuickBooks Class as shown below and click Import.

Multi-unit franchise owners will see the Franchise ID drop-down to map and view each locations’ QuickBooks Chart of Accounts.

If you are a Multi-Unit franchise owner who manages each location with a different QuickBooks Online company, you can map your locations to separate QBO accounts by first selecting the target location in the system’s Location Selection Filter and then initiating the QuickBooks Import Process.
