Overview
Fields used in web forms are first created and configured within Manage Form Generator. This area controls the field properties, including whether a field is designated as required (mandatory).
If you need a field to be mandatory on a web form, follow the process outlined below.
Making a Field Mandatory
Step 1: Mark the Field as Mandatory
- Navigate to Manage Form Generator.
- Locate the field you want to make mandatory.
- In the Mandatory column, click the red X next to the field. Click the red X only once. If the change is not immediately visible, refresh the page to verify the update.

Step 2: Add the Field to the Web Form
After marking the field as mandatory, add the field to the desired web form.
The field will now be configured as a required field within the web form.
Making the Field Mandatory Only on the Web Form
If you want the field to be required on the web form but not required elsewhere in the system:
- Complete Step 1 and Step 2 above.
- Return to Manage Form Generator.
- Remove the mandatory setting from the field.
Important Note
Removing the mandatory flag after the field has been added to the web form will not change the web form configuration. The field will remain required on the web form while no longer being mandatory elsewhere in the system.
Result
By following this process, you can create fields that are required for web form submissions without making them mandatory throughout the entire FranConnect system.
